My art is inspired by colors, textures, and shapes in nature. I am drawn to arts involving fiber, including paper as surface or as substance in mixed media and book arts as well as scherenschnitte (traditional scissor papercutting). These works are narratives, inviting viewers to find stories in my art or to tell their own stories in my handmade blank books.
“Rondeau in Blue” evokes the movement of the sea and the sky, the blossoms that thrive in water and in air. At the same time, the concept of rondeau or rondelle is evocative of narrative poetry and music.
