Celestial Beast

I have come to enjoy paint pouring for it’s uncontrollable nature and my obsession with the abstract. Like seeing images in clouds, this style can not easily be predetermined. It allows the artist to let go of the ego, the need to control, and the need to make a pre-selected subject perfect. You have to know the medium inside and out when you paint pour. Too thick and it won’t move, too thin and the paints will blend and make a muck. Ultimately, you end up nurturing the paint, not the subject, and watch your piece become in real time. I am always pleasantly surprised when I spend time taking care of the medium and I am gifted with something so organic and beautiful. Then, you finally get to see what it is to you, and can embellish it to a degree, as I did with the starbursts, to help others see it just as you do.
