This is a view of the meadow at Penland Craft School. I took a course in encaustic painting there this year. The medium’s fluid nature helped me capture the glorious skies of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The title alludes to Psalm 121, “I will lift up mine eyes to the hills, from whence cometh my help.” As a child I thought that meant God lived in the Blue Ridge. I’m not sure I’ve changed my mind about that.
